2001 Slideout wiper gasket problems

Has anyone else found that the wiper gaskets on their slideouts (probably 2001 or so models...Intrigue) are coming off due to rusting of the metal bar that attaches them? We've had two of them on the BR slide come off and it appears possibly due to the AC dripping down the side of the slideouts. Anyone with solutions? Anyone had JC involved?

We've had the problem and CC response to me was "You are out of warranty." I had mine replaced at Lazy Days in Tampa last fall and had the leaking edge of the corner of the slideout for a total cost of around $1400, mine failed in the exact same manner as did yours.
The metal fingers were all rusty and breaking apart, the tech who installed the new ones said it was unlikely to happen again due to the way he installed the new ones. He said the previous factory install was made in such a way that water could seep down into them and cause the problem.

Which really means we will watch them fall apart until the coach is out of warranty! When they started flopping around like a wet mop, I went to the factory and got the line"You are out of warranty". Was told it would take 8 hours labor to change all the gaskets on both slides.
Well, when it came time to pay the bill, it was for 22.5 hours of labor at the $85/hr rate. I said " I don't think so as you quoted 8".
Tech said he would have to check his paper work and he came back and said he indeed quoted 8 hours but how about we split it. At this point I told them I would pay for the 8 hours only and if that wasn't acceptable, take the gaskets off and I would do without.

I must say the new material is better than the old stuff so I hope the problem is fixed.

Don,

That's a good one! Don't you just love that mantra "You are out of Warranty." I bet they stand in front of a mirror and practice that every day before they go to work. At least they did throw me a bone and fixed the electrolysis problem on my entry door, couldn't get the same treatment on the slideout electrolysis though. Anyone know of causes of dash air quitting, any fuses that should be checked? It runs but blows warm air.

The dash air was my other problem. After 8 hour of labor, they said the thought they knew what was wrong but they couldn't fix it! They felt sorry for me and "only" charged me for 2 hours. I took it to a AC/radiator shop in Eugene where he replaced a valve up front, flushed the system, recharged the system in 3 hours. Total bill was less that $300.

Seems CC drained out 20 ounces of oil and what they did drain was full of black chunks of stuff. They said someone overfilled the system. I told them that it was CC that did it because they were the only ones to touch the AC system.

Anyway, that sucker really blows the cold air now. It never worked right from the factory.

BTW, you going to homecomming or to FMCA?
