Using Cruise Control for high idle

Is there a trick to using the cruise control to maintain 1000 RPM while warming up the engine? A couple of times I got it to work by tapping the ACCEL slide switch to the outside. This morning it would accelerate but then drop back down. Many times it has no effect.

Am I missing something or is my control not working properly?

Hi Dave,

On your coach you should be able to turn your cruise on then tap the accel switch until it gets up to 1000 rpms.

Hi Dave,

Ahead of your rear axle on the passenger's side of your coach, look up and you should see the control box for your cruise control. There should be one or two molex connectors coming from the box going to your coach wiring. I would separate the connectors and spray the inside of the plugs with tuner cleaner; then put some dielectric grease inside the connectors and snap back together. Both the cleaner and grease are available at a Radio Shack store or an electronics store. You also should check for any ground wire coming from the box or plug and make sure it is solid and free of corrosion. I am sure your problem is a dirty connector, ground or both.
