slide awning un winding in side wind

we have a 40 foot 99 allure with a galley slide. we have experienced problems with our slide awning unwinding and rolling back up while we were driving with a side wind. cc had us change the side arms and awning rail to eliminate this problem. on our last trip the problem still persisted when we had a side wind. when this is happening we are driving approx. 55 mph and the side wind is 20 - 25 mph. the number of winds in the awning are correct according to cc and zip-Dee. Has any one else experienced this? I've used duct tape when necessary what is the fix?

We had the same problem with our 2001 Intrigue. CC advised us the awning needed additional winds (tension) which we had done at Holland Motor Company in Michigan. My question concering Hank's post on his Allure; How did CC or Zip Dee know the awning was correctly wound unless they took it off and counted the winds? Seems like they're making an incorrect assumption. Since having our awning tension increased we've not had the side wind problem.

I've had the same problem with our Allure and now our Intrigue. If you catch a strong gust of wind just right, the slide awning will unroll. I screwed down the safety holders as much as I could but the awning can still unfurl from the top. Any help out there?

By the way, I had this while going through Kansas with 80 - 100 mph gusts and got off the road but we ended up tieing two ropes around the motorhome the next day because there was no safety clasp on that motorhome. 1998 Holiday Rambler Endeavor Le Lemon
