Freedom 25 and Gel Cell Batteries

My '98 Magna has a Freedom 25 Inverter. There are no remotes other than the on/off switch in the galley and the battery level indicators in the control panel above the windshield. I'd like to replace my original 8D house batteries with gel cells. When I read the Freedom 25 manual, it indicates adjustments required on the dip switch settings of the remotes if you are using gel cells or AGM batteries.
Are there dip switches on the Freedom 25 itself that I must be concerned about changing if I switch to the newer batteries or do I not need to be concerned about it? Should I switch both the house batteries and the chassis batteries to the new type or can I mix so long as both the hiuse batteries are the same kind and both the chassis batteries are the same kind? Also, re the gel cells, I can get an excellent price on Deka gel cells in the 4D size which have dimensions very similar to the 8D's that are now in the coach. I realize that the amp hours for the 4D's are around 180 versus the 8D's at 225; any thoughts on such a switch (the 4D gel cells I can get are factory blems at a price of $90.00). I'd appreciate any thoughts on these questions.

Are you going to do any dry camping? If so, I would not get the 4D batteries ... you will be unhappy. These houses on wheels suck up a lot of juice.
