Electric visor info, please

Yahoo Message Number: 11636
We're having Davis redo the front overhead cabs, install an HDTV, etc., so it is a good time to get rid of the plastic visors and upgrade to electric ones like on the newer models. I've seen several kinds on different CC coaches, so would like input from folks as to what they have, like, and brand, if possible, so I can order them.
Thanks...

I put in the power visors from Carefree of Colorado in my Magna.

Terry: Carefree of Colorado had a booth at the Quartzite extravaganza last year. I bought three power visor shades and a manually operated one for a cool $100.00. They were odds an ends.
I installed the power ones across the front and the manual one at my window. They work great! Carefree gets about $250 per shade if you order them. Ouch! I don't know where you can get them cheaper. Maybe at Quartzite. Give it a whirl, camping in the sand and gravel is different. You meet lots of folks there.

Hi Jan,

I have the electric visors in my MH but I don't recall what the brand is. I'm not that crazy about them. The good is that they do a good job of blocking out the sun when driving directly towards the sun and they store away very nicely and compactly. The bad is that you can't move them around to block out the sun when coming from any angle other than directly in front of you.
Depends if you think the good out weighs the bad. In my case, I can live with them but I think there are better solutions to blocking out the sun than these visors.

Two years ago I spent 6 continuous months out there, completely off the utility grids....LOVED IT.

Don't remember the name, but they are made in Canada. Get the longest ones you can to reduce the gap in the center. I also got a manual one for the drivers window, 32" and about $90 dollars. TWI 11731 2004 Intrigue. PS if you are putting in an LCD TV then the blinds can mate together in the center.
