On my 2000 Magna, I have the Link 2000 panel. You program the Freedom 25 Inverter from the Link panel. I also think 4D a poor replacement for you.
Gel cells also poor performers relative to regular deep cycle batteries. I have a pair of 8D AGMs that are superb, though pricey.

Thanks for your comments. Since I do not have a Link remote though, must I worry about trying to re-program the Freedom 25 for either gel cells or AGM batteries if I make the change from the old wet cells? I posed the question to Heart Interface on their website several days ago but have not had a reply.

Yes you do. There is quite a good description of the exact reasons why in the literature you received with your coach. I can't remember whether it is under Battery, Inverter, Charger or what, (may even be in the generator booklet) but it does spell out the need to properly set the charging profile.

Further, whoever was asking about installing 4D batteries, my advice is "Don't". The two 8D units are not adequate for cold weather dry camping if you have hydronic heating without running the generator for about four hours in ten. CC will tell that six to eight hours of furnace operation will drain the batteries and you won't even be able to start the generator at this point. When we mentioned this they suggested we add two more 8D batteries although they could recommend where they should be located!
