Colo sales tax

Anyone up to speed on Colo sales tax collection. Is it on total sales price or cash difference above trade in(on which sales tax was allready paid once)?

Guess I should have thought of that before we traded.

It is on the difference, but still a bunch, probably 7 to 8 % depending on where you live.

Currently a Colorado residence but hopefully not for long.:-)
