Re-stringing day night shades

We are heading to Eugene and have a day night curtain that needs to have a new string put in. Does anyone have a suggestion of someone who can do that in Junction City or Eugene?

Question: Did you have to remove the blind from behind the cornice covering to do this? If so how did you do that?

My shade next to the copilot seat has come unstrung and I need to get it repaired somewhere. I figured I would find a blind repair place somewhere...but I wasn't sure how they would know how to get to it behind this framework of the cornice.

Magnamama - Not sure where you are now but we had some done in Eugene last month. South Willamette Drapery did it and the charge was $45.00 each. He did not take the valances down, just unsnapped the blinds and took them to his truck to restring them. If you need anything else, just drop me a line.

Looks like it is cheaper if you are in Texas!!

I am in Louisiana, but no time to deal with it here. I will be traveling to Austin, San Antonio and then to Tucson where it is is more likely I will have time to deal with it since I am also going to schedule some other service there next month. Tucson is where I will need a reference if possible. Thanks!

I don't know if my "valance" or cornice or whatever you want to call it, installed in my Magna is the same as yours. I do not see the configuration of screws like you wrote. I have the low voltage light strings that also go around the box, so I don't know if removal is the same. I think taking off the shade alone is going to be less of a problem. I see the metal strip at the base of it and those screws are easily removed. It is tight inside, but I can get help if I cannot get the shade off and on. It might pay to have someone do it at a blind repair business.
