Hi: I agree with a lot of what you are saying.
We also had a Diplomat which I loved but Bob did not like the way it was constructed. We tried very, very hard to trade up to a Windsor. Could not get anyone to give us anything for the Dip. although it was a 1999 and we only had it a year.
We fould that Monaco gave excellent customer support when we had anything wrong. We did not have much go wrong with this unit. The worst was the windshield problem. We had to have them reset and they still had a problem. When you used the jacks it stressed out the windshields.
We traded for the Allure and Bob is happy with it. I am not overly impressed and wished we could have stayed with Monaco. I do not like CC's customer service. When we call to get information all we get is the run around. When we went back to the factory to get a few minor things taken care of they were exceptionaly good.
Just they can't seem to communicate over the telephone. We are going to keep this CC.
Trading every year is too costly. We have not had much wrong with this unit and did live in it for three months. Everything went well.

I was doing a little back tracking of messages trying to find fixes for a few nagging problems that won't seem to go away. I came across this gem of a post from a little over three years ago. Now, it would appear that CC would have learned to solve some of these problems by now. But, I would be wrong if I assumed that. My fan still runs continuously at full speed, my Huricane furnace still causes coolant loss and it took over three years to find the cause of PAC brake problem. And, Cummins nor CC have been able to put their finger on a reason for black smoke from the exhaust system on my coach. This after having been in 8 different Cummins service centers and after replacement of the most likely causes of the problem...CAC replacement, turbo replacement, injection fuel pump replacement. CC warranty and service personnel have tried but for some reason they have been unable to fix this problem.

My opinion is that these problems don't get solved because CC and Cummins are unwilling to dedicate a team to solving these problems because there would be no profit in it for them.
The working level guys do their best to solve these problems but since the problems appear to be systemic to the design, it seems, no amount of sweat at the working level is enough. It is going to take someone in the top pay grades to fix the problem, a dedicated team of engineers on the manufacturing side of the house should be assigned to study the issues and then appropriate public recalls should be made.
Secret recalls are not going to solve the problem.
CC has possibly the finest marketing organization in the business, it would be nice if they would somehow transfer some of that expertise over into the manufacturing and service side of the business.
