Spyware-Lots of it found after visiting our site.

Todays Arizona Republic noted that some computers are found to have 1000 spyware files causing all kinds of problems. Each time I visit this site, I received from 1-5 that my spyware program deletes. If you don't have a program to detect and eliminate them, you may well end up having to format your drive and re-install all your programs.
It happened last year to me on one of my 7 office computers. It was caused by spyware, found to have ended up deep in the registry. John 2002 Allure

Hi John,

If your AOL subscriber, they have free spyware detection software you can download from their site. The one I use is Spybot; it seems to work well. There was another one you could download but I do not recall the name. I use this in conjuction with Symantec Anti-Virus software. I hope this covers it.

Take a clue from the medical community: Get a second or third opinion before you reformat you drive. There are other options to try prior to this drastic step.

I also picked up lots of unwanted garbage here and on many sites. I got ad-a-ware and spybot and turned the automatic feature on in spybot. It catches 2 or 3 attempts per Hr on this site. as-a-ware seems to have cleaned things up pretty good and spybot keeps it clean.

Hello All,

I have been using Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.com for about 9 months and run it regularly evry two or three days. Ran it just a minute ago and came up with 606 items. If you do not have a spy ware program, log on to lavasoft.com and get the ad-aware SE. There is no charge for the program.
