Chalking streak down side of coach

Yahoo Message Number: 14038
There has been a lot of discussions about roof chalking causing streaks down the side of the coach. I think my cause is different.

About a month and a half ago, I scrubbed the roof and did an application of 303 to the roof. A few days ago, I washed the whole coach, and that night it rained. When it dryed again, I had a six inch wide white film vertically down the right side of the coach just to the rear of the Girard Awning.

The awning has a 3 inch strip of what looks to be white roofing material (like heavy tar paper with white grit on it) siliconed the full length of the awning to seal the top side of the Garard. When I washed the the roof, I had noticed that the rinse water became milky as it traveled the strip. I believe this is the source of my streak.

Has anyone experienced this? Are there any better seals? Is there a way to seal this material?

p.s. Emerald Desert RV Golf & RV Resort in Palm Desert sold out to new owners, who decided to reduce their part time staff to reduce expenses, free of more potential rental spaces during the peak season, and work the remaining staff more hours. I will be moving to Desert Shadows RV Resort (site 389 in January and then site 374 to March 7th, then back to Emerald Desert to March 19th). Desert Shadows is about 7 miles away in Cathedral City CA, (right next to Cathedral City's Outdoor Resort).

Is this type of white "asphalt shingle" roofing strip used on all installations of Girard awnings by CC? Or is a rubber gasket of some kind used on some models?

I had to reseal with silicone (which is what CC used) both edges of the entire strip.

Per another owner's suggestion, I may go back to waxing and buffing the roof, instead of 303.

But I still believe my current white streak problem is the roofing strip, as I don't get the white streaks any place else the water runs off the roof, except at the rear end of the awning.
