John, we had the same problem with our 2002 Allure this past October. Don't know if same mechanism as the Affinity but checked with the CC after hours tech and he suggested it may be the solenoid.
We ran it in and out several times and it finally stayed in. We had planned on moving to another site in the park and did so with no problem. After that until now we have not had a problem. As we say in Texas, "quien sabe."Has never happened again. Had the switch checked by Pro-Tech in Seguin, TX and couldn't find anything wrong.
We were terrified in moving the coach but CC tech assured me that with engine started and air brake released there was a locking mechanism that would not let the slide move out.
Above FWIT. Hopefully it is a small problem.

John, Gary, et al.....

We had a 2000 Intrigue that had the same problem. HWH replaced the solenoid AND the valve, as they weren't certain which was the culprit, and we never had a problem again. I did learn something in the process. HWH explained that you should hold the switch down for a few seconds after the slide hits the stops to assure hydraulic pressure buildup to hold the slide in place. This is true for both extending and closing. FYI.
