On HGTV after the parade, 12:15 Texas time, there will be a program on Motor Mansions, custom high $$$ rigs. Might be interesting.

I saw the show on New Years, but could not take the entire show. Apparently those people have so much money and really wanted everyone to know it! Hopefully they will not be camping anywhere we stop.

LOL, Gene...a little full of themselves, you mean? I just tuned out the sound and watched the pretty pictures...dreaming of winning the lottery. I did like that Affinity.

The Affinity was ok with the exception of the exterior pain scheme. That was a little too much for my taste, but to each his own. I just have a hard time spending that much money for something that depreciates like a big rock, but if you have as much money as they seem to have that would not be a concern.

Happy New Year, Gene

Apparently there are more of those folks with all that money, because there are many of the higher priced units cruising up and down the interstates. See even more of the 400,000-500,000 dollar rigs every day. I guess the stock market has done well for some of these folks. Oh well, I will stick with my '99 Allure for now.

I agree there are more and more of the expensive rigs on the road, and most of the new park development is catering to the high end units. From my vantage point, there is a huge disconnect between the type of units being manufactured and facilities to accomodate those units along the road. How many parks have you encountered that can really accomodate big rigs? In my travels throughout the country I can count 10 or less in our 45K miles of travel.

Happy New Year!

I guess we were all in the wrong businesses! Jewelry in FL was where the action was!

I think it is all the jewelry "buyers" that helped pay for their new coach. Maybe retiring in Florida is good for investment growth. Or maybe drug money? Just a thought or two.. The Newbee sure did a great job on their coach.. Glad to see the new member..

If anyone knows of the time and date after January 8 that the program "Motor Mansions" will be broadcast, would you please post it.
I have missed the three earlier broadcasts and our daughter is getting married on 1-8 so that eliminates that date!! Would like to see it.

Thanks - Kathy Marsh

Hi Kathy,

A Yahoo TV listings search looks ahead 14 days. It found this showing:

Motor Mansions

HGTV Jan 08 05:00pm
Special/Other, 60 Mins.

Guess you'll have to program your VCR or use TIVO to capture it for replay later.

Cheers,
