Temperature reduction, open door & lower radiator flap.

Yahoo Message Number: 15003
We finally have taken a trip to St. George Utah and tested our modifications with support arms holding the engine door open and closed. Found a 15 degree drop using the same speed and climbing configuration with door open. The lower flap below the radiator did not seem to do much when operating at highway speed, but does well at idle to keep the hot air from re-circulating. For those interested in engine heating problems, pictures of the CC factory test coach, our lower flap modification are in one group of six photos. The door support arms are found in a another photo album with rear and side views. The modification to keep the door open envolved drilling 4 holes and a 36x1 inch aluminum bar being cut in half with the ends rounded. Rubber washers are used between the arms and coach for the 4 1/4 inch bolts holding the arms up. It was less than two hours to complete. John
