Bypassing ignition key

Is it real complicated to bypass the ignition key so that the t.v., satellite, etc do not go off when the coach is started? Our coach is an o4 Allure# 31022. Thanks everyone for responding to our questions. We really enjoy the responses.

Hi Livelys,

CCI did not document this well. The simple way is to remove the TV and locate the box the tv power cord is plugged into. There are 2 control wires going to the box (relay inside) as well as the 120 vac wiring.
You can either cut one or trace it back to its source and cut the wire there. It is not recommended to bypass the ignition as there is a 20 amp draw if the ignition key is turned to 'on' (the cirulation pump stays on). Same for the satelite power, etc Fred Kovol

On our 97 Allure, there is an outlet behind the TV that is controlled by the ignition key. It wouldn't be difficult to put in a straight outlet up there so that the TV would be wired to the rest of your circuits.

When we put in our 'follow me' satellite dish on (installed by Camping World) they found an outlet that worked when the ignition switch is on or the engine running. It works great - we can watch TV going down the road (not a good idea) - or listen to the music channels - the weather channel or CNN - We put a short surge protector extension cord into the outlet and plugged everything into the one outlet.

Hi Folks,

When the ignition key is turned to 'on', the ignition fuse/cb box is energized via a solenoid located behind the right front panel(ref diagram #S0410)and powers the following: fan controller, ABS (2), backup sw, backup monitor, step control, windshield wiper, washer, shifter and cruise control, mirror heat control, dash A/C relay and clutch, vacuum pump (for A/C), dash A/C, dash hot water circulating pump (in engine compartment), and air dryer.
