Moultrie was a diaster

I am sorry, but I disagree with your comments concerning the Moultrie rally. In addition to the rain and mud, I think the entire rally was not well planned and was generally a diaster. I seriously doubt if many of the first timers will be atttending another rally in the near future. I heard many negative comments and welcome CCI hiring someone to coordinate rallys. CCI rallys are nothing more than a means for CC to bring together a capative audience to sell coaches.

CC sold 24 coaches at Moultrie, and had sold many more coaches at Perry when we departed on Wednesday. Money seems to not be a factor for many buyers and that will only lead to higher prices since there is no incentive for CC to do anything different. A $30K price increase for the 06 Magna is unreal, and the cost of an Intrigue has more than doubled in five years. CC dealers are telling customers they have to make at least $30K on every deal, and people are lining up to give it to them!

I second some of your comments ... I attended my first rally last year in Tucson ... I was very disappointed ... It was just a sells fest and I didn't receive much support with issues on my then new coach because they were stretched too thin. I'm have not attended another rally since then. I don't know if Tucson was an aberration or if all the rallies are like that.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for. Yo us, the main thing is to meet people, and exchange information. We learned at the ElDorado rally in 2002 that you can?t expect a lot from the free maintenance.
They have limited parts and personnel, and from what I heard, a lot of folks signed up at the last minute.
The food was good, even though the buses to Colquitt didn't come on the first day. So, we just went out there in a car with another couple, and had a good time. I suppose you can be miserable anywhere!

When compared to other rallys e.g. Buddy Gregg sponsored events, this rally left alot to be desired.
They knew how many people were coming, but there was not sufficient food for several meals. When we first joined CCI the rallys were well organized, but they have gone down hill and I think that was evident by the comments by the club president that CCI was going to hire a rally coordinator. I assume if meeting people is one's sole criteria for judging a rally, this one would fit the bill.

I also was very disappointed with the Rally. I was on the south side site 209 and only saw a couple of Coaches being towed out of the mud, I had no problem getting out. Other than the mix of Monaco's and CC's in the south lot, Monaco was on hard surface parking. I mentioned this to one of the CC guy's and he said it was a disaster, CC was suppose to have first pick of the area.

The seminars were almost impossible to hear since there was always so much noise in the building, we would have better off in a tent.
Monaco seperated there seminars so people could hear. Lots of vendors in the Monaco area, one at CC.

All in all, CC needs needs to do a better job at Rally's.

I did not see anyone who did not get fed at any of the meals, and for the most part, there was plenty of food left over. But of course, some people can't be satisfied, no matter what!

Talking about tires, we were traveling from Perry on I-20 on Wednesday and a motor home pulling a car on a dolly and the spare tire on the dolly broke lose and flew through the air and smashed into the front of our coach and did about $6-7,000 in damage. The guys at Buddy Gregg said we were lucky that we were not riding in our tow car in lieu of the motor home.

I agree with you that Moultrie was a disaster but ITdisagree with you on the things that get done at rallies. We arrived at moultrie with an engine problem on our C-13 that would not go away. We have 7000 miles on our 05 Mag and have been to the Cat shop in Tampa 6 times and still get a check engine light every 30 miles. When we arrived at the rally we told CCI to fix it or else before we leave the rally or Perry. The Cat rep asked us to wait till Perry because of the mud at Moultie and they would come to our campground accross from Perry and do the correction.
At Perry Cat sent 2 trucks and a supervisor and they spent 2 days and $5000 replacing our actuvator valve housings, a total of 3 that are under the valve cover pan.
We did all the prep in the coach including plastic on the floor and the tecks did the rest. The guys who worked on our coach were CAT tecks from the Blue Bird factory.
They work on all the C13s that don't respond when Blue Bird puts them in coaches and buses. They spent 2 days on our coach and were very impressed with our engine access, much better then BB. They came from the CAT shop called Yance in Macon, Georgia. The tecks were great and the engine light has not come on since they completed the work, 1000 miles ago. This is just one example of what can be done at rallies if you go and insist on something that is important. The CAT guys spent another day at our CG doing other brand coaches and then went over to FMCA to do more warranty and repair work. Sometimes it's a matter of finding the right people to solve your problems.

CC could have saved alot of money and caused you less frustration if they had brought the right people in from the outset. Hope this is the end of your problems!

We had an interesting experience on our way home to Vienna. On I-20 in Georgia a spare tire broke off a motor home dollie and slammed through the front of our coach, bounced around underneath and exited the left rear bending the angle iron that holds the mud flap like it was tin foil. We left the coach at Buddy Gregg in Knoxville and they were going to access all of the damage before providing an estimate. I would bet it is in the $5-6K range. Thank God for the coach armor, it absorbed much of the impact before the fiberglass, headlights, etc. were smashed.

I glad you apparently got your engine problem fixed, and hope it stays fixed for you. My impression was the technicians were overwhelmed at Moultrie, and some folks got good work done, others, like us, got little work donw. Our friends in the 95 Affinity made out well, they left with a lot fewer probems than they came with. I guess the C-13 has had some problems--will probably look for a C-12 when it comes time for replacement, if we don't buy a used Prevost.

Yes he stopped since the tire hit and did damage to the car he was towing. I reported it to his State Farm agent and have heard nothing since getting a confirmation call. Buddy Gregg said it would take a couple of weeks to get the parts. It happened very fast!

To the best of my knowledge they are built on the top of the line Spartan chassis. We met a guy in Florida that bought a new 45 ft Newmar Essex for $380K and it is beautiful, and we have friends that have an Affinity that really like the Travel Supreme.

We looked at Monaco at Perry and were shocked to learn that they still have a solid front axle and have no intention of going to IFS. My wife likes one Monaco floor plan that has the bed stationary, but both sides of the bedroom slide out. Our friends that have CC bedroom slides tell us that arrangement is not as great as it looks when one person has to climb over their partner to get out when the room is in.

Our 40' Intrigue new in 1999 listed for $240K and the 06 Intrigue list price is more than double that price.
I bought a new 1995 Toyota Avalaon that listed for $33K and can buy an 05 Avalon that also list for $33K.
It is true that an 06 Intrigue has alot more features than our 99, but the same can be said for the Toyota.

It is my belief that CC prices are going to become an issue as more and more companies bring competitive products to market. One of the CC sales people told a guy that bought a new Magna in Georgia that his company has to make at least $30K profit on every sale.
