Mike and Marg. Thanks for the reply but the problem in my case IS the door it's self.

Tammy, thanks. You might be on to something, I'll check the door hinge.
While driving in a left quartering head wind the door top will actually pull away from the door opening by 1/8"-3/16". Might just be enough play in the hinge to allow this movement.
