New Jeep Toad Question

Anyone out there pulling an '05 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited? Our battery seems to be discharging while towing. The Jeep is brand new last Wednesday and we had a US Gear Unified Tow Brake installed. I'm getting 13.6V from the connector on the coach which is supposed to keep the car battery charged. I show about 12.1-12.3 volts on the car battery when it is turned off. The other thing that seems weird is when I turn off the key to tow the Jeep, ie ignition off but steering not locked, the transmission indicators stay lit on the dash. I can't remember if this occurred on the previous Jeep that DC replaced at 500miles.

I'm going to drive the toad today and get a good charge on the battery and then see what happens when it sits without being towed. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Any ideas on what the battery voltage should show with the ignition off?

I don't have an 05 Jeep yet but thinking of getting one and with the same brake system as you have. Therefore, I'm very interested in info you find out. I'll read the posts, but please keep me informed so hopefully I can avoid the same problems if I go for the Jeep.

One thing I have discovered is that with this particular Jeep putting the ignition in the "almost off" position basically is that same as the ACC position. Maybe the ignition isn't working correctly. Two more days and we'll be back in WA where I can get it looked at by our dealer. Meanwhile I'll run the engine at lunch breaks and recharge the battery.
