Slide delamination

I haven't been on the website for many, many months, but back then I saw several messages about "delamination." Didn't affect us at the time so I didn't pay much attention. We just purchased an '04 Intrigue Ovation and have been told that our slides are "delaminating"

and that they should be fixed ASAP. Since we can't get away to the factory (3-day trip, one way), we were told to take it to a facility 3 hours from home. After taking it in and being told it was a "simple, fairly quick" fix, we now have been notified that it's a bigger problem than this repair shop thought. They casually (and timidly) mentioned that the fiberglass was cracking as they tried to make the repairs. After

a little over a week, they have barely completed the first slide.
Has anyone had experience with this problem? If so, was there a problem with the fiberglass cracking during the repair? How long should this repair take? We have this very uncomfortable feeling that

these people don't know what they're doing - they are a new CC shop.
Any recommendations on who is good at this type of repair? Appreciate

any feedback. Thanks.

Had a little delamination problem myself. Had it glued in Tucson, again at the factory, and again in Tucson. I'm not sure what they did in Junction City but in Tucson they used a syringe with special glue that reacts with water. Pried the outer shell out enough to insert the syringe and inject the glue then some water. Clamped it up and left it over night. It seems to be holding this time. No cracking of fiberglass.

Purchased an '04 Ovation last August, #11719, mfg in Aug, 03. Left it with Guaranty in Junction City for 2 months last fall since I could not get into the factory. After many tries, Guaranty failed to solved the problem. Took coach into CC in May '05 and they have determined that the slide skins will have to be removed, and re-done (a big, big job that takes approximately 3 weeks of factory time counting removal including windows, cleanup, new vacu-bonding on the production line, and new paint. I have re-scheduled an appt in Aug to get the work done and plan on heading home for the duration. I saw one unit being done in the shop and do not want to be there when they do it (that gentlemen opted to head back to Alaska and return in November to pick it up. I had to re-schedule an appointment to get it done, or, wait for at least 6 weeks to get it done (did not want to give up my summer).

If you are still having problems, I would strongly recommend a visit to the factory and plan on either leaving it and coming back or renting a motel room (CC warranty does not cover incidental expenses). Despite what you might hear, I'm not sure the field dealer network has the capabilities to correct the problem correctly once the problem starts and 'any' attempt to fix the problem fails.

I am new to the site so sorry the response is so late.

Hi George (Becker), Why don't you try going to Beaudry for the repairs since they are right there in your "neck of the woods"? They are pretty slow in the summer is what we have been told. So maybe that would help. I know they recently hired a couple of exCC techs who jsut started there.
