Rally costs

I'm sure that this question has been asked and answered before. Why are the costs of the pre-rallies so high? We also belong to the Escapees and our local chapter rallies run in the neighborhood of $60 to $80 for 4 to 5 nights and included at least 2 meals. The National rally for Escapee was $125 for 4 nights, which included electricity. The Fargo CC pre-rally shows $295 for 2 people, no hookups, and with the exception of a pizza party, no food. What does the rest of the money go for??? Jim Howell

Jim,

I've been to both rally's which you mentioned and I have to tell you that there is no comparison. CC puts on a spread which Escapee's doesn't come close to. For example you might find unlimited lobster on the menu at an CC rally but I doubt you would ever find that at an Escapade. CC also provides trips to some local tourist attraction, for example in Maine, it included a whale watching trip. CC also brings their repair crew out and provides at no extra charge labor to fix up to 3 items on your motorhome. That alone could be well worth the price of the rally. Yes, the price is higher at CCI rallys but the value also seems to be a lot higher than the comparison which you made.

Jim,

The rallies usually come with several breakfasts and diners, a pizza party is not the only thing I also believe that we will be entertained at Fargo by a couple that will cost several thousand dollars. At Moultie, Ga, we went to a hotel for diner and then a show in a local town. Buses are free but not the diner and show.

As for one of the responses you received - we must have missed the unlimited lobster at Moultrie! And, I thought we were there for every meal! Yes - they do serve full breakfasts and evening meals as well as some planned entertainment. In addition to the freebie work done on your coach. However - we have heard from some (Monaco people) that their rallies are cheaper - don't know for sure - just the normal hearsay. Don't know if we will do it again or not - Moulrie was our first ever rally.
