Adjusting tag axle load

Yahoo Message Number: 16458
We weighed our coach and we're right at max on the drive axle and almost 3000lbs under max on the tag. Is there a way to adjust this so the tag carries more weight? I'd also like to shift some weight from the front of the coach to the rear to reduce the front axle and to do this I need the tag to carry more weight. We are around 3000lbs under GVW but right on max on the steer and drive axles.

The only way to use the tag axle to reduce the load on your front axle, is to reduce the load on your tag axle--think of it as a see-saw with the drive axle as the fulcrum. Of course, this is the opposite of what you are trying to do. The only way to reduce the load on the front axle is to physically move weight from the front to behind the drive axle, which is not easy to do. Limit what you carry in the fresh water tank and the holding tanks. If you weighed the coach with a full fuel tank, keep in mind you will reduce the front axle load as you burn fuel also--most of the fuel weight is on the front axle.

I figured from my physics that that was the case. I was just wondering if the tag/drive suspension was maybe engineered to offset that problem. My physics tells me that that should be possible, ie if the drive axle suspension was lowered without adjusting the tag and front axle. The weight was done with full water and full fuel so I could get the worst case weight. We don't usually run with more than 1/2 tank of water and with empty gray and black. Any water usage while are on the road results in a net zero weight.
Thanks for the respons.
