VCR/DVD Player to Replace VCR

There was a recent thread about replacing the VCR with a combo VCR and DVD Player. My VCR is 15 inches wide. I can't find any units that are less than 17 inches. Did anyone find one that is a direct replacement?

Walt, When BG installrd mine, they altered the face plate, but hard to tell.I think you use BG for service, call and ask for Kit Olsen, he handled the install.

Ray, it looks like the combo unit from Panasonic is about two inches wider than the existing VCR. This shouldn't be a problem if there is room behind the face plate. Who is BG?
