Friends need help

Yahoo Message Number: 17053
Hi,

Just got a call from friends in Nevada. They have a 2000 Magna (new to them) Headlites, brake lites and signals work...no other outside lites are working.
They are not sure where all there fuses are (they have found some and seem O.K.) Problem may have been caused by towed short.
Told them I would post this and ask for help. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for Gordon and Laura Bob

Bob,

Had a similiar issue on my Intrigue. They need to look at their lighting schematic as it will identify the wire number for the tail & marker lights. On mine there are 2 #11 wires that activate the markers & taillights. I started at the light switch and with the switch on the #11 wires had power. I traced the wires to a red moly connector block located in shifter panel just left of driver's chair.
With the switch on there was power in, but no power out. Fiddled with the connector & lights came on.
On my Intrigue there are three fuse boxes to check. Two are by driver's feet area and the other is in right rear service compartment.

Hope this helps.............
Steve

I've had the same thing happen on my '95. I would imagine that the wiring is similar on that 2000 Magna. It was a 20 amp fuse in the fuse panel that is located just above the throttle pedal. I was hooking up my toad when it popped. Anyway....check that.

Bob,

The 2000 Mag should have a fuse panel in the rear engine compartment, it is hard to get to but it is there. All the fuses for the lights and towing are in this box. We had this box moved on our 2001 Mag so it was easier to get to, CC did it at a rally, some coaches can do this and some can't. This may be where your problem is.

Ron,

On our 2001 Magna our panel was on the right side of the engine compartment sandwished between the wall to the bedroom and the outside back wall, behind a steel support that you had to reach around to change the fuses ( our 2000 Intrigue was in the same place). At a rally I had CC take the panel off and attach the cover with Velco instead of 2 screws which had to be removed to get to the inside of the panel. They also mounted the panel with Velco so I could pull it from the wall to better see the fuses. The wires were to short to move the entire panel. Our new Magna panel is much easier to get to and I changed the plug arrangement on the tow vehicle, which has eliminated a lot of our blown fuses.
