I have a 2003 Intrigue with Cummins ISL 370 hp engine. What is the recommended interval to change hydraulic fluid and filters? As I understand it, the fluid powers the fan and power steering.

Thanks,

In looking over my manuals I am getting conflicting indications of change intervals for the hydraulic fluid and the filters. This is the fluid used for power steering and the engine cooling fan. I have a 2002 Intrigue with a Cummins ISL 370 hp engine. What intervals does the group use?

I have the ISL 370 and have the hydraulic fluid and filters (3) changed at 15k. I must have gotten that out of my manuals at some point but that is what I have on my Maint. notes. Coach is in shop or I would tell you which one of the manuals it was in. Considering what that system does it would make since to change it that often.

Arthur:

They CC Maintenance schedule (Table 7.11) says to replace the filters at 5,000 miles then every 25,000 miles or two years which ever comes first.

My manual for my '05 Intrigue Ovation says change the filters every 25000 or 24 months. The fluid should only be changed as necessary.

While on the subject of Hydraulic Fluid -- I noted that my canister label indicates using Dextron II to refill the reservoir. When I went to buy some I found only Dextron III along with several statements by sales people that Dextron III replaces II and can be used in its place. I asked if they can be mixed, but received no clear answer.
I called CC tech help and was told that I should use only Dextron II.
Can some of our form experts shed some light on this issue.

Thanks for the help
