Heat related failure of toad light connections

Today we were traveling across Montana and it was 101 degrees. At about 240 miles we stopped for lunch. After lunch we checked the toad lights and all we had was brake lights. I checked for voltage at the coach connector and we only had voltage on the brake light connection. I checked the fuses on the tow connector module and they were fine. I called CC Tech Support and they asked me to check the input to the module. We didn't get around to checking it until we had stopped and the coach had cooled for a couple of hours. It works fine now. I suspect the heat is causing a temporary failure of the board.
Anyone had this problem?

You might also want to check out the wiring connector between the control board and lighting wiring (for both the coach lights and 7 pin connector on the back of the coach). We had several problems with ours including intermittent toad light operation. Turned out to be poor contacts in the connector. Dielectric grease and reseating the connector helped for a while, but we eventually had the connector replaced.

In our coach the connector is on the passenger side of the engine compartment wrapped in lots of black electrical tape. Its a big red connector with a dozen or so wires going in/coming out.

Thanks for the suggestion, Tom. The next time the lights fail I'll check the board while the lightes aren't working. I found out its easy to do. Then I can isolate the problem to a specific section of the system.

The problem occurred again yesterday and we were in a truck stop when we noticed it. I checked the input and output to the board in the back and I'm not getting any output from the board. While I was doing the checking the right turn signal started working. I wasn't as hot yesterday as the day before but still in the low 90's. I suspect I have a bad tow board. Hopefully it is not due to the location where the board is mounted.
