Hooking up TRAILER

Yahoo Message Number: 17998
Have been through the manual and drawings and am looking for the wires to hook up the electric brakes and +12 volts coming from the 7 way plug on back of the motr home.

It is an 2004 INTRIGUE with the 505 CAT.
No power now, might need to wait till monday and call CC

Anyone out there found them.

There are no wires for for +12 or brakes on the current connector.
You'll have to run the blue wire from the brake controller to the back of the coach and run a +12V from the battery.

There are four (4) spare wires going from the front of the coach (DS equipment bay) to the rear of the coach in the engine bay. These wires are numbered 4, 5, 6, and 7 and they are on your wire run list. Wire number 4 on my coach is a 12 gauge which I used for the trailer brake controller (blue wire). The other end, PS back bay, has a board that interfaces with the trailer connector. Here you will have to do some fancy footwork and decide if you are going to use the "A" or "B" jumper position (separate brake and turn lights or common brake/turn lights. Then locate the wire that goes to the brakes on the trailer connector and cut it (or add a switch as I did) at the coach connector wire run. Add your trailer brake controller wire there. It works fine.

Mel\:\[br\]\[br\] There are no wires dedicated to your brake controller, however, you\[br\] have two spare wires that run from the dash to the curb side rear bay\[br\] and terminate on a terminal strip\. I don't remember the wire numbers\[br\] now, but you can verify this in your manual with the chassis 12 volt\[br\] wiring diagram\.\[br\]\[br\] I used both for the brake controller\. The blue \(I think\) wire on the\[br\] brake controller is the "trigger" wire to activate the brakes\. I ran\[br\] a wire from the brake switch in the driver service bay to a new toggle\[br\] switch under the dash and then to the brake controller\. The purpose\[br\] of the extra switch was to give me the option of not braking the\[br\] trailer every time I used the coach brakes\. One reason may be that\[br\] actuation could occur when you use the engine brake, as I've heard\[br\] that the brake lights come on even though you haven't depressed the\[br\] brake pedal\. Anyway, it was an easy install for assurance\.\[br\]\[br\] The toughest part of the install was finding the two spare wires at\[br\] the dash area\. Took the better part of a day\. They were located\[br\] behind the cabinet, inside the dash area, on the passenger side\. \(You\[br\] have to remove this small cabinet\.\) Again, you need to look up the\[br\] number so you'll know you have found the right ones, although they\[br\] will be taped off on the ends and the number will match the number\[br\] back in the rear curb side bay terminal strip\.\[br\]\[br\] I believe I took the hot and ground directly from terminal lugs fed\[br\] directly from the chassis battery\. Ground is very important with the\[br\] trailer brake install\.\[br\]\[br\] It's been a while since I did this install, but if you need more\[br\] explanation or additional help, drop me a note and I'll be glad to go\[br\] look at my wiring sketch and relay the whole process to you\. It's not\[br\] really too difficult once you've found the wires, the brake switch and\[br\] determine how to get the wire from the driver bay to the dash area\.\[br\]\[br\] Roger Uhlich\[br\] 04 Intrigue 11699 \[br\]\[br\]\[br\]\[br\]]
