Help Please 96 Magna

Yahoo Message Number: 982
Mark and I are new owners of a 96 Magna, which has 33K miles. We are currently stranded in SW Washington with a Detroit Diesel Engine that will not run. The mechanic here replaced the burned out solenoid kill switch, but one of the brown wires is not getting power. We are going to try to bungee cord the engine to get it to run so we can get to the factory next week. We had a new Hart 450 Invertor installed week before last at the factory and the power keeps cycling off and on to the TV and Microwave(that I know of).The roof airs are heating currently. This is on a Gillig chassis. Does anyone have any information about these problems? We have talked endlessly with the factory reps. Thanks Judith

Try posting on groups.yahoo.com/group/diesel-RVs for your diesel problem

AC heating. Is it possible that you have the luxury of heat pumps in your AC unit which will create heat for your coach in addition to the furnaces? We are in negotiations on a 95 which has that feature.

Did you buy from a private party or dealer?

We have heat pumps which we used to keep from freezing. Yes, we bought from a private party and had the CC check the coach out before we bought it, but you could have it checked at any good CC repair shop. We are at the factory now, they are saying this is electrical problem, but don't know for sure. Good Luck Judith

One bit of information on the Heat pump/AC units, the heat pump cannot extract and provide heat if the outdoor ambient temperature is below about 38 deg F. Also the over head "heat" comes through the ceiling ducts so no heat to the basement.
Happy travels.
