Can anyone help me with Solar Panel, I have one Solar panel small> what do I need to charge or maintain my batteries while stored outside! It is a Country Coach with one chassis batterie and two house batteries! Any help is welcome and one more thing, when you hook up the Solar panel to the batterie, do you just connect the wire to the terminal, Holland Motorhomes connected mine to the hot/wire from the fridg.!

Thanks for reading and hope you can help me................

I HAVE 6 BIG SOLAR PANELS. I AM NOT SAYING YOU NEED MORE THEN ONE TO DO THE JOB. WHEN THE RV IS SETTING AND OUTSIDE WERE THE SUN CAN GET TO IT. ONE SMALL ONE WILL DO THE JOB. NUMBER ONE, I DID WHAT YOU DID AT FIRST, TOOK THE WIRE TO THE FRIDG. IT WILL WORK A LOT BETTER IF YOU GO TO THE TERMINAL. TURN OFF THE 12 VDC TO THE RV. THIS IS TO STOP ANY USE ON THE BATT. AT ALL. YOU DO KNOW IF YOU KEEP ELE. TO THE RV. THE AC BATT. CHARGE WILL KEEP THEM FROM RUNNING DOWN. THIS IS ONLY ONE PERSON SAYING WHAT WORK FOR ME. GOOD LUCK CAPT. DAN 2000 ALL.

Hi Carl,

Consider the following:
1. Solar panel size: 3 - 6 125 watt panels
2. Controller - acts as the current regulator much like the inverter/ charger
3. Isolator between the two battery banks if you want to charge the
chassis battery also.

System connection is to the batteries.
Monitor and control is also part of the installation.

We owned a Dutch Star for five years. It came with a charge system for the coach battery. We were always able to start no matter how long it had been parked. The panel failed and I had to replace it. I got on at Camping World. It was 5 watts. It would not charge anything or operate any systems, but it did keep the battery up.
