Squeeky steps fixed?

Yahoo Message Number: 18764
Thanks all for the great information regarding squeeky steps. I found the screws under the steps that are suppose to have rubber on them. I noticed that the screws do not touch to bottom step and would not (at least in my case) be the source of the squeeking problem.
What I did find is the top step has a flange on the bottom of the step and it appeared that this flange was hitting the bottom step when pressure was put on the top step. (this is starting to confuse me and I am writing it) Anyway, I sprayed some silicone spray on this flange between the two steps and the squeek has gone away. I do not know how long this will last, but a couple of sprays of silicone seens to solve the problem for now.

Thanks again
