REMINDER about posting messages to this forum

To All Members:

Here are a few tips for making this forum easier to use and read:
(1) Please remember to sign all messages with your name, coach year, model and serial number.

(2) Secondly, please trim your replies to messages. There have been some messages with reply to reply to reply to reply ... to reply -- eight deep! Just count the "> > .. > >"!! Even when you are the first person to reply, most messages can still be trimmed. Whether you post via the web or reply to email, it is easy to trim (delete) parts of the old message from your reply. Highlight the text with the mouse and hit delete. Trim the ads and Yahoo group links from the end of the message too.

(3) On the other hand, some of the replies are so short, there is no clue what the response is referring to, because even an abstract of the original message was not attached. Such as, "You can get the part by calling xxx-xxx-xxxx". Please be a little more explicite.

(4) When the topic of the message changes, change the Subject!
(5) In some cases, a reply to the author, instead of to the group, is more appropriate. Is the message useful for the group, or does the opinion or information better shared with the author. "Joe, call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx"!

(6) All of you have been very good about not responding to SPAM.
Thank you. I delete the messages when I see them, but unfortunately Yahoo still sends the message out in the next daily digest.

Herb, I regret to say I missed the opportunity to meet you at the 2005 class reunion in Eugene. Maybe next year.

 If you go in 2006 would you consider holding a seminar for the group? It would be nice to meet up in one of the conference rooms and perhaps get some guidance on accessing the files and photo sections, etc.

Hello, I can't figure out how to set up the signature with all that information which is recommended to have. Most of the other forums have an automatic signature you fill out once, and it automatically appends it to each post. Does this forum have such a feature, and if so, how do I set it up?

If not, I don't see typing typing it manually, especially since my memory is not always up to remembering the serial number. In fact, I just blanked on the year as well :-)

(Manually, and only because I happen to have my notes next to me)
