We traded the coach today! Had been working on a deal since September and today completed the transaction. I told the dealer about the bad solenoid as I didn't have time to get the part and replace it personally. With what they will make off the deal I don't think a faulty solenoid bothered them at all.

Thanks for all the responses. David

Hi Tom Royer & group,

We decided to change coaches at the class reunion in Eugene but only completed the details on Monday. Our final choice was to go with the 2006 Allure Siskiyou Summit. The inventory of new Allures is not great so rather then compromise we decided to order a new coach with the options we wanted. The first available delivery date was Mid to late January 2006.

Part of our deal allowed us to part with our coach now at a higher trade price then we would get next January. As our plans over the next three months are very complex and for the most part do not involve motor homing it was not rocket science to decide to release our Intrigue early. We will only miss a couple of small rally's and know we can 'drive in' for the day if we so desire.

Allures seem to be very popular right now. In fact, when at the dealership on Monday I saw only one 2006 Allure on show. By contrast there were four or five Intrigues. Sales staff said the Intrigue was going kind of slow but Inspires were a hot item.

Personally I like the look of the 2006 Intrigue but couldn't justify the big price jump they require. I would have liked tile all the way up to the front but this is not available on the Allure due to the type of slide used in the living room.

To answer four questions many will want to ask.

1. We were happy with the deal we made. I will not release the details. When people do this there is always someone who comes out of the woodwork to say they did better and then there are the people who did not do so well who keep quiet.

2. We chose Guaranty RV because we are only two and a half hours away and the dealership is so close to the factory.

3. We have met several salespeople from different dealerships we would have been happy to work with but because of our past good experience with Guaranty in Junction City (see 2 above) we decided not to shop around and just concentrate where we have been happy in the past.

4. I originally talked with Damon Rapozo several years ago when we had a Winnebago and were thinking of getting a Dutch Star. When he moved to Guaranty it was only natural that we would continue to talk with him so he was the obvious choice. Had Damon not moved out west I can think of several other Guaranty salespersons we would have been happy to work with.

One last comment. We could have saved money by purchasing a good used 05 or 04 Intrigue but decided the higher ceiling and wider entry on the new coaches was worth the extra cost.

This is probably more information then you wanted Tom Royer but once I get started........

 Regards, David
