Diamon-Fusion done

Yahoo Message Number: 19294
Having had to replace both windshields I opted to apply Diamon-fusion while the glass was pristine. The process was interesting yet quite simple. One would probably not have to shop for a very experienced shop to do this although, of course, they must have the necessary equipment to do the job. Upon returning home several bugs tried to make love with my windshield and thus met their ultimate fate. Removal was a breeze, but then they were still freshly juiced. Time will tell if the investment was worthwhile. A four year warranty against chips and cracks comes with the deal.

Judy,

Each shop sets it's own price so you may want to shop. Mine was done at American RV in Anthony TX just because it was close to home (Las Cruces, NM). They charged $995. Others may be moe or less. It was supposed to take 1 1/2 hours but due to a rather relaxed atmosphere among the techs I was there for about 3 1/2 hours.

What was the cost of having this done?

To those of you who have had Diamond-Fusion done....

Has anyone mentioned to you the need to have maintenance on your Diamond-Fusion performed to keep it functioning properly?
I'm considering the process and never heard about this maintenance. Then, at FMCA a dealer for the procedure mentioned there is a home application progress that should be done (I believe every 6 months but not certain of the intervals) in order to keep the Diamond-Fusion doing what it's supposed to do.

I think this is an important question to have answered and would appreciate replies.

Tom,

Part of the deal was a spray can to wash the windshield with every third of fourth wash. My intuition tells me that this may not be necessary except to put cash in their pocket on a repeated basis.
Good marketing. The application chemically bonds to the glass in a vaporization process and a spray can is not going to do that. Their four year warranty does not mention a need to do this to maintain the warranty.
