Invertrix Inverter/Charger

Invertrix is no longer in business. It is my understanding that repair involves replacing it with a different unit (Heart?).
My Allure CC 2002 was manufactured in 3/2001. Delivery was 12/2001.
Upon delivery they needed to replace the batteries. I noticed after 6 days of camping, connected to 120 AC with Invertrix ON (in order to keep batteries charged :-( ) that as soon as I unplugged the rig from AC I was briefly at 100% Battery capacity, which soon dropped to the 80's%. Amps was at 0 with no AC turned on (open Microwave door and it rises to 2 Amps as expected), and I don't believe I had any appreciable 12V load. (Maybe I need to look for some 12V drain -- presume I need to pull fuses and jumper with Amp Meter).

What are the symptoms of a failing Intertrix? If it needs to be replaced I would like to catch it under warranty before 12/20/2002.

There's been a lot of problems with the Invertrix. CC tried to "reprogram" mine this May but by the next morning it was goofy again and they replaced it with the Trace. I went through the original batteries, a new set of 8Ds and I now have a set of AGMs- all in 9 months. I now believe it was the Invertrix not the batteries. It's a full day job to replace the inverter.
I have been told by knowledgeable people that when the Invertrix works it produces the highest quality electrical output available in this class of inverters.

There's a number of comments many months ago (last fall ?) on this board regarding the Invertrix. Good Luck

I finally convienced CC that my Invertrix was only charging to 60% capacity of the batteries and thus was operating on the lower percentage of the batteries and was thus mudering my batteries. They finally replaced my Invertrix with a Trace after the Invertrix killed two of my 8Ds. Have not had one iota of trouble since the replacement.

A heads up for anyone who had their Invertex replaced by a Trace: the Trace has two breaker switches that become hidden behind the origional access door for the Invertex. If an overload trips these breakers, you have to remove the entire pannel to reset them.
