We Are New

Just wanted to say Hi. Found info for this web-site in the New Country Coach magazine. This looks like a real interesting site.
Our names are Linda & Paul and we have a 2000 Intrique which we purchased a year ago. We have not done that much traveling as we both work full time. We are weekend and summer warriors!! This is our 1st Country Coach and we are really enjoying it. Would really love to go to a Country Coach rally, but a little to far for us right now.
So far--no problems--Knock on wood!!!

Hi Linda & Paul,

We purchased a used Intrigue also. We are still learning about our particular model and have found this forum to be most informative.
Our Cummins engine had a "bad" compressor. This was a recall item and we discovered this when we took the coach to Cummins Northwest for a routine service.
The unit was replaced by Northwest at no charge and with minimum delay. If you haven't done so, I recommend you check with Cummins (not CC) to see if your compressor is on the recall list especially if your coach number is close to ours.
Also, we have the unit where the hydronic heat exhaust runs from the passenger side across the unit to the drivers side. The straps holding up this pipe broke. I replaced the exhaust system with a shorter one with parts supplied by CC. The newer Intrigues have this shorter exhaust exiting on the passenger side.
If you have the longer exhaust pipe I recommend you check your holding straps now and make a note to check them periodically to avoid separation while under way. This is not a difficult retrofit should you choose to do it yourself.
No doubt you read the recent posts regarding the electric water heater switch location. We didn't know where it was until reading these posts.
We are about ten hours from the CC factory which is a big plus. We have made one trip there and had some minor items taken care of, and also plan to go to the rally in Eugene in July 2002.

Thanks so much for the information. I am printing your letter to show to Paul---he is the one " in charge" of the items you mentioned. We have already had to have our counter replaced in the cooking area. It had cracked. It must be so nice to live so close to the CC factory. We are close to our dealer which is a plus.
Again Thank You.

Obviously from the recent post regarding the hurricane muffler it is a bigger problem then CC wishes to acknowledge. I think the idea of adding a 'fail safe' bracket or brackets is a good one and had considered doing this myself when contemplating replacing the two broken connections.
However, when I talked to CC they informed me that the exhaust pipe is now routed to the passenger side so I elected to get from them the replacement parts for that style of installation. At the time I did the job CC had no detailed instructions available so to some extent I had to improvise. I installed two brackets to hold the exhaust pipe down stream from the muffler. After completing the installation I purchased a can of high temperature exhaust pipe paint from an auto store and after a couple of applications the finished result looked factory fresh!
We have used our hurricane heater during the colder nights. It is OK but I am not sure I would have one next time. The Jury is still out.
