Vacumn cleaners

help on a new subject. We would like information on installing a vacumn system in our coach. Looking for reccomendations on brands and installation details if possible.

Re: [Country-Coach-Owners] Vacuum cleanersHi Ron, We just installed a Dometic central vac. system in our Allure. This one can either be surface or flush/recessed installed. We had room on the back of the shower wall next to our refer on our floor plan to recess the unit so all that shows is the front. There is an electric plug close by which made this an ideal spot with our floor plan. The expandable hose reaches both sides of the coach and does a good job of cleaning the floor. For a small unit it has quite a bit of suction, altho' one draw back is there is no beater bar on the vac. head. We've found a good spot to store the attachments and hose, so this works out for us.
Besides the Dometic brand CW had (I think) a Dirt Devil which was made to be totally recessed and only the hose opening would show. We chose Dometic since it looked like it would be a bit easier to install.

Thanks Sue. Our space might be more limited than in your coach as ours is a 36' but I will look into that as a possibility.

Why go to the hassle of installing a system? I carry 2 small vacumns, a DeWalt wet/dry which runs off battery or from 120v, and a small 120v cannester vaccuum for general cleaning. Probably takes up less space and cost less than a built in...
