oil blowby

Does anyone have a suggestion for my problem? I have a 2001 Intrigue with a 350 Cummins. At about 5,000 miles, I started to get oil blowby on the back of the coach, around the exhaust, and on my tow vehicle. One Cummins dealer spent a day checking all the logical causes, but could find nothing the was not up to spec. A second dealer performed the same tests, then called the factory, which sent them a new valve cover with a breather on top. After driving another 1,ooo miles my blowby is just as bad.

Did they check the oil level, when I picked my Allure up from the factory and drove it across country the entire back of the vehicle was covered in oil. Cummins checked the oil level and found it was 3 quarts over filled. The dip stick was not marked correctly. My ISC is supposed to hold 21 qts and it had 24 in it from the factory. I had the dip stick remarked and have not had any further problems.

I had that problem with my 1999 Intrigue. They initially told me that a little oil was a normal process so I added onto the hose and brought the end down to within a few inches of the road. That helped keep the oil off of my car. But I was still getting more than I thought was normal. So I took it back to the dealer. They replaced the breather valve and the problem went away.........might want to check that one valve again.

good luck den

Ditto my '99 Intrigue. A truck service station put 24 quarts in and it blew four quarts out all over the coach from front to back.
Cummins said it should not hurt anything. The danger is that the oil will foam and not lube properly. I drove it 40K miles before I traded it and had no porblems. jerry in NM.

I have a 98 Allure and the pipe "blow back"?????coming off the engine on the left side had a crack right next to the engine block. The place I got it fixed soldered it to the connector and no oil spray in 30k miles. It was just a small crack but caused a mess.
