That circuit board is difficult to see in the engine compartment.
The board in my coach Affinity was mounted in a similar place to my prior Intrigue.
The board slides up into a metal box mounted to the wall in the engine compartment.
Check the wall the is on the back side of the engine compartment --- there are only a few inches between that wall and the rear fiberglass exterior wall of the coach. You may need a bright flashlight to see it. Once located you now need to slide the circuit board out of the mounted box. So, carefully pull down on the two cables until you can grab hold of the edges of the circuit board and pull out the rest of the way.

Good luck. Den

Hi Jim and Nancy

Welcome to the "group".

I also have a motosat system with TIVO built in (highly recommended). I would just love to know more about how Motosat works with the internet and I'd really appreciate hearing more from you about this.
We live just outside Salem, Oregon - about 1 hrs drive from Junction City. Would love to learn together with you about all this cool stuff.

Hope to hear from you.

Hi,

Thanks for the info on internet with the motostat. Could you reply what the total cost is per month for i-service + regular TV. And how happy are you with it?????? Jack & Mary Lou Finnegan

I have gotten to learn that all CC's differ. However, in my case turning both disconnects off does not stop drains. There are phantom (nuisance; drain) loads besides the ECM Cummins engine chip. Finding them is beyond my capabilities. I agree that to charge the batteries monthly is ideal and if your climate allows to take a drive monthly for about an hour. Mike 2000 Allure #30493

Gene,

Gene, Sun Block is strictly for tires. It is basically a black latex paint that is formulated to adhere well to rubber and contains a UV screening material. I'd say there are many reasons for not wanting to paint your roof with black latex so to answer you question I really don't know how slippery it is. I guess that the tread got a little of base when someone asked in a thread about roof treatments if there was any other products that protect tires from UV. Sorry if I miss-lead you.

Just researched SunBlock a little. About $35 a gallon, but $18 for a smaller kit from Camping World. One reviewer liked it but had no real time on his application yet. The only other reviewer found that it flaked off shortly after applying, and he was adamant about them being fraudulent in the claims of longevity.
Our toad has a couple rubber roof accent strips that I wanted to touch up recently, but found no product at Home Depot or Kragen that said it would adhere to rubber, presumably because rubber is so hard to bond to and stretches so much. But like with all "paint jobs", proper preparation of the surface is crucial, and the second reviewer may have been less than thorough.
Having already used 303 on our tires (and I'd have to agree that water does take its toll on 303 and it does collect dirt somewhat), it might be that it would be almost impossible to get every molecule of slippery stuff off the tires first to assure proper bonding of SunBlock.

But $20 isn't much of an investment. Any others try this stuff?

Bill I live in CA and when we go to San Diego which is about twice a year, we stay at Chula Vista RV. It is within the harbor complex and on the beach. No swimming unless low tide, and then I would take several shots. You can see the Navy in action from there and you are about 5 miles from down town SD. See old town, and go to the "Blue Point" for dinner. Make reservation about two days ahead. Chula Vista itself is real close to the border, in fact at night you can see Mexico. Again outside the park is not real great, as there are many empty Aerospace building in the area, other than that the walks, dog runs, etc are great. Expect coastal winds, and cool nights.

Jim, I live in Massachusetts. I really appreciate the offer. I will keep your email and I'm sure I may need to contact you at some time with questions. There is a CC dealer in MA , however they are having a dispute with CC and will not provide any warranty work for the time being. I did have it winterized there and picked it up today. (They will work on mine if I pay for it, but not warranty work. I got a chance to talk to a real good tech that answered all my current questions about winterizing the coach etc But I'm still working my way through the box with all the manuals etc. I'm sure I'll more question.
Thank you

Graeme,

That's great that you love the coach. I have to say I am very happy with mine so far. We have only actually used it one weekend to "test" systems. My operator error story is that the weather got warm and I decided to shut off the hydronic heat. A hour or two later I went and took a shower and got ice cold water. Duh, it dawned on me that unlike my 5th wheel which had a separate water heater and trailer heat system, the hydronic heat does it all!! I'll only make that mistake once! We ordered a Saturn Outllook as our tow car it is due in at the end of this month. We will be get a tow bar in January. What type of tow bar did you get. Did you get a supplemental brake systems as well? We hope to spend some time in Florida in Feb or March.
Looking forward to your response

Hi Don,

I live in Peabody, MA and bought my coach in New Jersey. There is still a dealership in Middleboro. In fact they just did some work for me that was not warranty work. They are still an authorized CC dealership, however, they concentrate on Tiffin now. They told that they are no longer doing warranty work for CC do to some business issues that they have with CC. They have treated me well and did a good job on the non-warranty work but it is not the same as having your original dealer. As luck will have it, so far I have minor warranty items and I will get them addressed at one of the other service centers. But I'm sure going to rely on this site for advice.

Chuck,

It's amazing how many mistakes we've all made at least once.
I've got a Blue Ox along with a SMI Airforce One brake system that's installed on our Ford Explorer Sport Trac. I contemplated a fair bit about what brake system to install and eventually went with the SMI, no regrets so far. The shop that installed my SMI also sells M&G, they recommended I go with the SMI in case I was thinking of changing toads, something about being more interchangeable (way beyond my mechanical expertise).
I've got a bit of a wiring gremlin with my toad, the battery has gone dead on me twice, not sure what the problem was in each case as I set the toad up the same way for every trip. I've been very surprised and impressed how fast AAA and CAA responded to each call. I may have a trickle charger installed or I may just carry one of the 12V defibrillators around.
A question for you or anyone else that has the ISM 500 engine, do you know if it has 1 or 2 belts on the front of the engine? While checking my oil level last week I noticed that I only have one belt (front left side) on the engine. With my limited or should I say zero experience with diesels it appears that there are a few wheels and a tensioner (front right side) with no belt. I'm not getting any warning lights or signals coming on so I thought it may be part of the actual design. Haven't checked with CC or Cummins yet to see if I have a problem.
Like you we plan on going south (California) in the spring to find some warmer weather.

Graeme

Hey guys, this sounds like the makings of an "Allure" club. I have coach 31694. So far I am extremely happy with it. I can't seem to find anything to complain about. Which is a big surprise to my wife. We are in Palm Springs at the moment but are going Yuma in a couple days. We tow a Jeep Grand Cherokee and have not put an auxilliary brake on it. I really do feel that we need one. The brakes are excellent without it. Also the engine brake does a great job of holding both vehicles. I may change my mind later. If we happen to be in the same area, lets have a cup of coffee.

Shame on this group for adding to the thread titled UNKNOWN with useless information and not even deleting old worthless information.
All you group members did was advance the message number and rendered the Search function more worthless. Did anyone read the Moderators suggestions?

Hello R.D,

I appreciate that but I can only take the credit for the work I performed the rest was due to J.D. and Lauri Freeman, Tom Lawson, and Vern Hubber. That's why I loved woking for CC, so many people were able to work together and get things done.
Thanks Again

Bob,

I had exactly the same thing happen to me a couple of months after I purchased a 2002 Allure new. It had the 350 engine. The error code coming from the ECM that produced the shut down was low oil pressure. The analog read fine and I was able to drive it to a campground and on to Cummins Northeast a few days later. The 'Check Engine' light would come on and off but as long as the 'Stop Engine' stayed off it didn't degrade again. I my case it was a faulty digital sending unit. The coach also had a separate analog sending unit that drove the dash gauge. New digital sending unit and all was fine.
With all that Cummins has done they probably checked that but I thought I would mention my experience. Can't hurt.

Someone on the group posted a problem starting his coach unless he threw the boost switch. I was researching Xantrex Charger settings and ran into this article on bypassing the link measurement shunt. Maybe it is already bypassed during starting but I though I would pass the link on just in case this is the problem.

Guess I'm crawling under mine today. We are leaving for Wisconsin in a week. Haven't had any problems with hoses in 2 years, so I am due. Thanks for bringing this out.
