Recent Msg about failing of brackets on Hurric...

Yahoo Message Number: 1116
I am disappointed to find that CC knew about this problem back in August but made no attempt to create reasonable retro fit instructions for owners and dealers.

When mine failed in January all I received was a box of parts and not a single line of instruction. I did get a tech rep. to send me some info by FAX but it was not 100% and in the end I improvised.

Did not think to slot the pipe or add screws. Just went and checked my installation and at the moment it appears solid.

I installed two brackets down stream from the muffler which should help if the joint from the elbow to the heater becomes loose.

I drilled two holes through the floor of the compartment and used 1/4 inch bolts with nuts and lock washers to secure the brackets to the floor. The nuts are on the inside so that it is easy to perform a visual check to see that they are still in place.

When talking to CC I asked if any flexible washer should be placed between bracket and coach to cushion the transmission of vibration. I was told NO?

Considering the noise issue it might be necessary for me to re think how I have mounted the exhaust pipe.
