Kary Let us know what CC has to say. Thanks Ned Gary What is your idle rpm in gear ? Good thought Ned Eric About the electrical issue. The chassis battery has a manual disconnect on our coach. I think it shuts down all chassis power but I need to check that out. The electrical disconnect switch for the house batts only, as you know, shuts off the inside items in the coach. There are 3 breakers and the inverter on the hot side of the disconnect relay. The cross start, generator, HWH leveling pump and the inverter charger. The cross start also powers the echo charger / chassis. CC checked the draw on the system at the East coast rally, and said you have no option except to leave it pluged in. That's as far as they went and didn't offer to do anything more. Yes, I could move the leads to the other side of the disconnet relay but I do not know the capacity of that relay. Also, the echo indicates that it no longer is charging the chassis battery at about 12.8 volts.

The engine temp issue is basically controled by the fan control at 208. I will need to find the 190 themostat info of the Cat engine. If you idle in traffic, the engine will cool down to 190 and stay there. Then it creeps up to that 208 or 210 when back on the highway. I now understand the engine temp thing and do not have a problem with it running high. The tranny is another issue. My thought's with these temp problems is my 2001 MA. Engine warmed up to 180 and stayed there and maybe went 5 degrees higher on a long climb. The trans also went to 175 and stayed there.
The difference may be that the MA had a constant running fan or at least came on at a lower temp. The Inspire is a great machine and we love it, just some issues.

Ned, I will certainly keep this forum posted on the developments.

I think it is important for all to know that CCI says they are not getting any reports of issues with Inspires having tranny temperature problems. Unfortunately in a few days this forum has turned up quite a few people with issues. If we do not speak up about this for Inspires then there will not be a fix for Inspires like there are for other CCI coaches. Please make them aware of your temperatures with factual data. I spent the past 10 months gathering data and documenting trips with the silver leaf data because it cannot be disputed like a feeling or thinking there is an issue. These complaints are misunderstood as complaining versus facts.

For those that are not having any temperatures over 200 I say fantastic! You are lucky as this is how these should be running.
BTW, when I am in stop and go traffic I switch to nuetral and rev the engine to get the fan moving, does not work. Once hot, even at speeds it only cools slightly but stays above 215 for the rest of the trip.
Idle is fine, fans are working, flash upgrades to engine applied, everything checks out according to CCI and CAT, not sure about Allison though......can't really get an answer there other than the dealer says if the tranny has not shut down then you are ok.....
