I also have problems with flame out when we do not use the hydronics heater for a few days and then we turn it on when the tempoerature drops. I blame this on the fuel. Diesel does not do well in cold weather especially if we just purchased unwinterized fuel in a warm area. I restart mine at least 4 times before it stays on and runs, once it's on it should stay on because the heat starts to handle the cold diesel. This heater is feed with a small fuel line and when diesel is cold it can clog. Our engines are feed with much larger lines so this problem is not as great as it is on the Hydronics.
Another thing I have found is that you need to set the temp. way up when first starting the unit. The manufacture told me to put it at 85 at start up to make sure it does not go off before it warms up. Then set it back when it's running good. If you call the Hydronics people they can walk you thru some system checks to find out if you have a problem or it's just the nature of diesel. I now start our unit every 7 days when we are on the road just to keep it from going down when we need it. Hope this helps, Bill G
