black water flush

My black water flush valve is stuck some place. I can hear the gray water working but not black, nor does water build up in the tank. Any ideas on how to unstick. I have shoved something into the opening and maybe pushed the check valve in. I have left the water pressure on for 15 minutes, Now what?

The holes clogged in our black tank sprayer so I removed it, redrilled the holes, and it works fine. Its not as messy as it sounds, as soon as I removed the sprayer (wearing gloves), I dropped it into a bucket of bleach water. On our Intrigue, the sprayer is accessable withing the compartment over the Hydro-Hot. Panel comes off with velcro.

Bob, this sprayer you are talking about in the black water...do you dump your black water with a 3" hose or a garden hose? In other words, do you have the Sanicon system on your rig? The only way I can clean the black water is to hook up a hose and back flush the tank. This "sprayer" is what I am curious about. Thanks,

No we don't have a Sanicon (yet). The "sprayer" is the black tank rinse nozzle. I also hook up a hose in the plumbing bay and the water is piped to the spray head installed in the curb side of the black tank.

Hi Bob, have you read anything on the Sanicon system or do you know anyone who has one? One mobile RV mechanic said that if it plugs up you will rue the day you were born! He has refused to work on a couple of coaches who had problems with a Sanicon system (or maybe one similar). I would like to add it, but am needing more info at this point. Thanks,

I've looked at their webpage (www.emptythetanks.com ) but I haven't seen one in action. They have two basic models (with variation) a permanent install and a temporary install. Both connect to your normal sewer outlet and can be disconnected if a failure occurs. You would still probably need at least one section of regular 3" sewer hose with fittings in case the unit did clog or fail in some way. I must say that I haven't heard anyone that was unhappy with the unit on either this forum or the Motorhome forum.

We went through this problem and had several methods tried...then one of those mobile mechanics at a campground just said..."Let me see your check valve." I didn't know where it was..assumed it was IN the line of the tank...NOPE...it's that white tube assembly UNDER the bathroom sink! As soon as he looked under the sink he said THAT was the culprit! Sure enough...replaced that and have never had a problem. One place wanted to redrill our holes, another wanted to pull the tank, etc. Go for the simplest thing first. See if that works. (Getting the refittings for the check valve was the most difficult. He had to order the whole thing from CC.

Have had the Sanicon system on our coach for 5 months now. Only problem we have had is when wed got carried away and bought a pack of the real heavy quilted tissue. Did not disolve very good in the tank and ended up clogging the grinder. Closed the valve and put a plastic dish washer basin under the holes in the service bay before unhooking the grinder. If you have ever cleaned up after your baby had a loose BM it is no big deal. Realized afterwards that there is a slotted end on the shaft and we could have turned it backwards to clean it out.
We ended up hooking the 3" hose up and flushed the tank out real good to get all the heavy paper out. Otherwise it is one of the greatest toys we have ever bought for the coach.
