Problems with new Country Coaches

I have just ordered a new 2007 Affinity 770 and would like to know what kind of problems owners have experienced during the first year with new coaches.

My wife and I are scheduled to start the final design process in Junction City in May and would like to be prepared with questions. I have been reading the posts on the Toyo tire and Allison tranny cooling problems.

We're headed to CC for some "fixits" after having our Allure 6 months. Our back up camera has given us fits which needs attention. Also we've noticed we have a bit of soot coming in the back up camera trap door in the closet, and one of the Fantastic Fans is not always responsive. The Hydro Hot has needed some attention too. The biggest problem we just discovered after being in 7" of snow is a leaky seam on one of the slide outs. We've been in rain with no problem but between the snow melting the the level of the coach we found a weak spot. So really, as new coaches go, we've had very little problems compared to our other brand of RV. And with yours being so much more customized during production than our assembly line Allure, you'll probably do just fine.
Congrats on such a beautiful coach! But if anyone says you can't customize an Allure, they should see the inside of ours. The only thing that looks the same is the paint outside. Keep us informed of how your new coach does. They are beautiful! --

Find out what is 'new' for the 2007 model year. Design changes have the greatest chance of developing unexpected problems. And for the things which have NOT changed for 2007, see if the earlier years have problems in that area.

This is for 'design' errors. To minimize production errors, do a VERY thorough inspection before taking delivery. Aside from an end to end, top to bottom, side to side, inside and out inspection and test drive, live in it for at least one night, and try EVERYTHING. Some things may (and a few probably will) break after you take delivery, which is what the warrenty is for, but you don't want to take delivery until there are no existing problems...

Mine took 3 weeks to transfer, not because there was much wrong with it but it seems that the few parts which were bad were the hardest to get replacements for :-)

Look in the files section. Mr. Hughes has put together a well thought out "PDI CheckLIST". I took that and modified it for my use when we picked up our Allure. Saved both the dealer and me lots of time, cause we found several things right away before I took possession. By using something like it, you are less likely to forget what to check out.

For the first year we had our coach service is next to none unless you go back to Junction City. We are from California and just this year had a great sales & service center open is the Sacramento area.

We already met the Sacramento Country Coach Showcase people, and we toured their facilities in Roseville. That's one of the reasons we decided on Country Coach!!

Thanks for the complement on the PDI Checklist. I have not updated it in awhile. I try to add items to it as I find them on my own coach.

Go to the file section and you can download it. It is an Excell format file and you can modify it to fit your needs.

Sue is correct. For reference this is the site that you used to sign up for the group. Once there, click on "Files" in the left hand side.

Once you have opened the files section, and found the "PDI" list, then you can download it to your computer.

Since Mr. Hughes did it in "Excel" you can change, modify etc. to get it adapted to your particular delivery. For example, you may want to add the checking out of options that you have ordered.

The tech that did our coach liked it so well that he used it rather than his dealer PDI list.

By the way, it will take you at least two days to go thru the entire list, if not longer. The list is that comprehensive.

And besides, getting it adapted for your use will give you something to do while you wait for delivery...ha...

But, be prepared to find things as you use the coach. Some components work fine when the coach goes through QC, but will quit within the first few weeks of use. That is just part of RV'ing, no matter what you have. Hopefully your coach won't have many "fixits" with in the first 6 months. We have found CC very helpful when something has gone haywire and we are now headed there for them to fix a few things. This coach has sure been "a breath of fresh air" after the last 19 months of having major troubles with our previous brand.
