Coach sales--possible scam

Yahoo Message Number: 22708
I was contacted a couple of weeks ago, and my wife got a call today, from the same individual professing to have prospective buyers for our coach in Arkansas which is where we live. I can only assume he reviewed RVonline to get the particulars on my coach. He claimed to have the ability to handle trades to facilitate moving the coach. Today he told my wife we have the coach underpriced by about $ 15,000. When asked what his fee is he stated $ 179!!

Both times he called we informed him he would have to send us a proposal in writing, which he promised to do---but he didn't.Neither my wife nor I got his name.

Has anyone out there encountered this, and if so am I right in assuming it's a scam?

Walt,

If I remember correctly they are laying the groundwork for a "cashiers check" that will be for "too much" money. They will say it was sent in error. He will ask you to wire back an amount (the supposed overpayment??). Needless to say, you will find that whatever he sent was worthless while your transfer of money was not.

Thanks, Michael--it would appear my practice to never make any kind of deal on the phone without a written proposal has paid off.
