Hello
My name is Karen Lueck. My husband Al and I are new fulltimers.
We are looking to trade our small class A in for a diesel pusher. We've been looking at a 40 foot Country Coach Inspire (Davinci floorplan).
We haven't been able to get inside yet and are just in the preliminary stages of looking....but one of our main concerns is the carrying capacity. I haven't found out any thing definitively on the CCC.

Does anyone out there have the same model and can tell me what the weights listed by the manufacture read?

Does anyone have any advice on things to be aware of before we buy. It looks like a REALLY nice coach and we are very anxious to see it. This might be the one.....providing the carrying capacity is high enough :)

Thanks

Karen

Karen,

It is hard to answer your question without knowing the year. I would make a guess the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of a 40' Inspire is 37,000#. That means fully loaded, water fuel, passengers and everything. If it has dual rear axles then the GVWR would probably increase to 45,000#.

As a general rule CCs usually have ample CCC, but you can easily determine this once you get inside the coach. The CCC is listed on a data sheet on the back side of the vanity mirror in the bathroom. I have seen CCCs on Country Coaches range from roughly 3-6K. Some are rear axle heavy (like mine) and if you don't have a tag axle, you might have to get creative on weight distribution. Also, among the documentation that came with our coach, there is a detailed weight sheet showing the weight of each wheel when weighed at the factory. Country Coach used weigh all their coaches before they left the factory. Good luck in your search.

Hi Karen,

I have a 2004 Inspire Genoa and the CCC is less than 4000 pounds. I had a bigger CCC with my little old gas powered coach. If you want to full time and expect to carry a lot, I RX at least an Allure, but check the particular coach before making a decision. Unless you are really good at keeping your load light, if you read books on a Kindle or Nook, have a limited wardrobe, plan to carry a limited amount of food and utensils and only use maps online, you will have a hard time not being overloaded in an Inspire. Have fun in your search for a new rig.

Oh, and I should have said get an Allure or other model with a tag axel if you are looking for maximum CCC.

Concur, as we just had to drop ours for a repair job:)! We had slide on our 'Must Have's' list, but at the price point we got our rig, I felt I had enough Contigency Funds stashed away to drop this multiple times over the years ahead. Did not expect it to be in the first year, but, now have a caught up maintenance and solid baseline to maintain from here. A factor to consider:)! Smitty
