Bose speaker mounting problem

The heavy (2 lb +?) Bose speaker on the DRIVER's side is mounted on a standoff bracket from the DS wall above the driver's head. The speaker faces aft. My speaker has come loose on its mount. Close examination has shown that the cantilevered speaker puts a CCW torque on its mounting assembly screw. This, of course, tends to UNSCREW the assembly. I took the assembly apart. I found what appeared to be LOC-TITE (blue stuff) on the threads. I bought EXTRA STRENGTH LOC-TITE (red stuff), re-assembled, let it all sit for 24 hours and then re-mounted it. 100 miles later it came loose.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on how to keep the speaker from unscrewing the mounting?

I have the same problem, and did the same thing you did. My fix lasted less that 4 hours. I am going to Best Buy and try my luck there. Funny the passanger side does not move. I will report back when i think I am on to something, in the mean time please keep us all posted.

My PS speaker hangs straight down from above and therefore exerts no torque on the long mounting screw. The DS speaher (the one I'm having the problem with) exerts an "unscrewing" or CCW torque on the mounting screw, so it simply unscrews itself. I'll keep thinking about it.... there must be a fix.

We need a backup plate, or that is my current thought. I am still going to Best Buy will advise.

Joe,

Vibration seems to be causing your speaker mounting problems. Can you reduce vibration with some stiffening of cabinet above speaker? Easy access to back of speaker mounts is thru cabinet interiors.
