Purchasing Fuel - Pacific Pride

Speaking of places to purchase fuel (and the problems with sometimes getting in and out L), is anyone using something like "Pacific Pride" for a fuel stop? I know they are more expensive, but they are easy to find and looks like very good ingress and egress.

I just tried them out for a whole week's trip. Denver to Wash. back through Oregon. They are very hit or miss.
You might find one that is a very nice station or you might find one that is totally scary to even pull into.
It was nice to pull into them and not have a crowd of people and any body to deal with, you just scan your card, pump and go. The frustrating part is, is that you do not know what price you are paying.
You get a statement mailed later on.

I used to use Pacific Pride, but don't anymore. Prices are usually better at Loves, Pilot, Flying J, etc.

One problem with Pacific Pride in AZ is that they will charge you the full road tax the same as a truck rather than the discounted RV road tax. 8 cents/gallon adds up.!

Pacific Pride charged us 16 cents more a gallon than Texaco. This was at the Bakersfield Tecaco and we did not have a Texaco Card & used the Pacific Pride Card. NO MORE PACIFIC PRIDE CARD!!!!

Buying fuel at PP is like anything else, you have to shop price.
There has been times when PP was indeed higher priced than a Flying J or Love's. Then there have been times that I have found them cheaper. Before I go to PP, I call them and ask the price of where I want to fuel. If it is higher, I don't go. You should ask them when the price is going to change and to what is going to change to. Once I ask, they told me to wait a day as the price was going down.

There are a lot of PPs in out of the way places which is nice.

The extra 8 cents a gallon is for vehicles which have more than 2 axels or which are over 22000 pounds GVWR. If you don't 'qualify' for this, you should get a discount or refund of it.
