Tracks to Adventure

Anyone taken a Tracks caravan? If so, what out of pocket expenses did you incurr (other than fuel). Were RV park rentals covered? What else?

I heard fom a guy that if you do the Mexico trip, to carry a lot of hard candy to throw down to the kids so they dont throw rocks to get your attention.

Just one of many reasons that I'll pass on Mexico.
There are just too many other great places in N America to put up with such behavior.

Who would go to Mexico to start with and then especially after hearing stories like this. Plenty of places here in the USA to see.

Perhaps before exposing your ignorance by promulgating statements like "....going to Mexico in the first place" you might wish to do a little reading. Should you do so, you'd find that Mexico's "Copper Canyon" rivals--if not exceeds--our Grand Canyon in size and magnificance. Or the run from San Diego to La Paz/Cabo down the trans-Baja might reveal to you things you'll never see in our beloved country.

I've about a thousand flying hours in my own airplane in Mexico, and I've driven from the northern border to Belize/Guatemala in both autos and RVs: and I've seen things (Like Boojum Trees) I've seen no where else in the world. Let me also add that my wife and I spend 3 months of the year traveling in the US. For the literally thousands of US RV'ers who find travel in Mexico equally as beguiling as travel in the US, I strongly recommend that you engage brain (WITH KNOWLEDGE) before engaging mouth.

I have not personally taken the TRACKS tour as I consider them over-priced. However from what I know, they are well done, and for those unfamiliar with travel in Mexico have the advantage of smoothing out the rough spots.

I do agree with you that blackmail efforts by unrestrained children is unacceptable in any culture; but not having the made the Tracks tour, I can't speak to that particular issue.

Unfortunately "mordita" is an all-to- common part of the Mexican culture. However I've discovered that if you play the "dumb Americano" role well, it usually goes away. So Mr Bender give up some of your parochialism and learn a little about the world. You might discover that every thing good is not necessarily found in the USA. Oh, and before you discount the foregoing, I'm for absolute control of our borders---especially the southern ones!!!!!

Finally I'd note, that if I had a DOLLAR for every Mexico story I've heard that turned out to be PURE BS, I could afford a New CC Prevost(Not to say that given CC's apparent current quality control problems, I'd want to spend the bucks that way.)
