2007 Allure 470 ordered.

Yahoo Message Number: 23909
Hi:

I have a 2003, Intrigue, Ist Avenue. It is a 36' model. I like it, but wanted to update. I have no choice but to order the 2007, Allure, 470, with most options. Intrigues and above start at 40'.
If anyone out there has a 470 with four slides, please let me know what you think about it. I will welcome both good and problem news.

Thanks,
Bob

Eric,I have an 06 Allure 470 - 37ft., quad slide, that's running our of warranty (house) this week. I just got it back from Buddy Gregg having the last, I hope, of the little nit picking things corrected. As far as I know, at this time it has no problems, but e-mail me in about a month and I will know more, as we are about to head to Colorado for a month.
I am happy with my coach and glad I bought what I did. I too would have opted for a shorter (36 ft) Allure or Intrigue if they were available. I prefer 36 ft and almost bought a 36 ft. Foretravel, but that is another story. The first thing I noticed on my shake down cruise was how the tag axled Allure tracks and handles. I got out of a 40 ft. SOB ( non tag) and there was quite a difference. We went over to Newport, Oregon to Outdoor Resorts and going over the mountains was a great way to test the handling. Hang on, because the 37 footer tracks and turns like a sports car. I found myself a little too comfortable and had to slow down several times to be safe. I thought storage would be an issue, but I have more than I need. I love the access to the generator and the engine. My sob had a small hood up front to get to the generator and a rear radiator that made engine access much harder. I will never have another coach with a rear radiator. I'm not sure, if I were going to order one, that I would order it with the passenger side slides. Everyone is different, but I prefer simplicity over too many bells and whistles that can break or cause problems. You would still, in my opinion, have plenty of room with only the two drivers side slides. The bedroom slide out is tiny.
The problems I have had: Terrible TV reception, almost unwatchable, but fixed now, I hope. The electric macerating toilet quit four hours after taking delivery causing us to have to go back to CC and spend another night at CC campground, instead of OR, Newport. Quite a difference. The tag axle seal went out and leaked quite a bit of oil on my drive way. The steps stuck out while driving. The Hydronic Heat developed a leak while at OR and we had to make another trip back to CC for repairs. The storage compartment on the drivers side had a bad leak, but I fixed it myself by caulking a void in a seal. There were several other very minor things that were wrong that I fixed myself also. Like I said, mail me in about a month and I will tell you if there have been any other problems. Usually the first year is the time you get all the bugs out. Hopefully I'm done for a while. Also, we have been in he coach quite a bit since we purchased it. We have about 11k miles now and about 120 days use in the first year. Even with the problems we love our coach, but only time will tell if it is any better than our previous two. Gotta go do some more loading. Hope I've helped.

HI Bob,

We have an '05,42' quad slide 470 and really like it. Probably longer than what you want, but we like the extra room for full timing. It handles well and is easy to drive. We are limited in where we park with the longer coach, but knew that going in.
We've had a couple of design problems that have caused us some troubles. One was 2 air lines run between the engine and exhaust where it got too hot and melted the air lines. We had the air lines fixed and put some heat shield over the offending spot and so far that has been ok. The other design problem is the inverter is in the battery bay and even tho' there is a fan for the inverter it still gets too hot in there and we loose the inverter on trips in hot weather. It has to sit a while and cool before we can re-set it. I hear CC is aware of this design problem and is trying to come up with a retro fit.
We've had a couple of component problems which have nothing to do with CC.
Over all we are very pleased with the coach, CC's customer service and it is so much better than what we traded in for this coach.
