Hinge Leaks and Dust

From Intrigue #11021 36' 2002 Galley's Open There I did it. I have read with interest the variety of conditions and responses about water in the doors, and agree with most. It appears that just maybe the sealant was not put in the pop rivet holes when our coach doors were installed. No I have not bothered to involve CC as it not high on my complaint list. If I ever get that concerned about it I will do as one person suggested "reinstall" It will be with Stainless rivets you can bet. Meanwhile I am satisfied with drain holes. Our coach is garaged. If I am going to reinstall any doors the first will be the one that was factory installed with a big gap on one side and rubbing the adjacent door on the other

Dust storm is not something that I have experienced. There may be 2 reasons. We have not traveled in that many hot places where the air was running when pulling into campgrounds and the other is that the fan speed controller had not been functional as effected by air-conditioning. This was not known until I went in for the CC recall on the controllers. Three out of six functions were broken. Never have had an overheating problem however.
This forum, I believe can help us all to understand our coaches and hopefully cure some of the common problems.

James, Any idea of what coach numbers were on the recall list? I am close to you, number wise, but do not know about this problem.

We had the dust storm problem. Were told there are three sensors that control the hydraulically operated fan. I believe these are for charge air temperature, OTR air conditioner heat exchanger and engine coolant. In our case the charge air sensor was defunct, calling for high cooling at all times. Much dust in camp grounds, coolant temperature never reached 135F in 32F driving ambient. Sensor replaced, dust storm gone, 180F reached under all outside temperatures and around 1MPG improvement in fuel consumption.

The mystery to me is why there are so many different CC initiated explanations about this condition.

My buddy has an Intrigue with a coach number in the 10940+ range. I don't know if he got a recall notice but I know at the family reunion rally in Eugene last year he had something on his fan reprogrammed.
He also had an air temperature sensor that was bad. Once the sensor was replaced and the thing reprogrammed he no longer had a dust storm.
