2007 Allure Echo Charger Wiring Error

As you may recall in my previous posts last month, the chassis and coach battery leads were reversed on my Echo Charger, resulting in a flashing green light on the Echo Charger and the chassis battery not being charged when on shore power.

Today, at the Country Coach Texans Rally in Las Cruces NM, a new coach identical to mine parked across from me. He picked it up two days ago from a dealer. I helped him with some of the new features of the coach. Just before I finished, I took a look at his Echo Charger -- IT WAS ALSO WIRED BACKWARDS. His coach number was about 12 higher than my coach (#31466). Some employee has the wiring down pat -- BUT WRONG.

Remember, when connected to shore power, you should normally find a solid GREEN light glowing on the Echo Charger. If not, check first for reversed leads. On the 2007 Allure, the red-yellow striped wire should go to the left "chassis/starter battery" lug on the solenoid. Quick fix is to switch the leads at the fuse holders (and label your change).

If you have a new coach off of the Allure / Intrigue production line, check the light!!!!

How many coaches at your rally? I live in El Paso and was thinking about driving up and saying Hello! Just wanted to meet you all and see what your club has to offer.

Yes, it really is just that simple.
So... WHY DONT THEY CHECK THE LIGHT AT THE FACTORY! My Inspire is now 2 1/2 years old and it took me a few months to figure out that the Echo Charger was wired backwards.
The folks at CC were no help at all as I told them the chassis battery was going dead .
I finally called and talked to an engineer at the Echo Charger factory and he knew right away that the wiring was wrong.
I told CC what the problem was and figured that they would not have that problem again.
Here we are two years later, and they are still making the same stupid mistake.
I'm sorry, but it is getting really difficult for me to defend CC quality control.

This employee will probably be OK, its just that he has been hearing about these $500 bribes that are being freely handed out.

We have about 48 coaches at the rally that runs from Wednesday to Sunday morning. Country Coach and Beaudry are providing service. The Hacienda RV & Rally Resort in Las Cruces has empty spaces.

The City of Mesilla (old town) just a mile from the resort has a restaurant called "Double Eagle". Everyone should add that to their "must do" list. From the outside, you would never know that you are walking into an old adobe mansion.

Its probably the best resturant within 200 miles. If you like steaks though you should really try Billy Crews Steakhouse in NW El paso on the border with New Mexico. He has the largest selection of premium wines in the Southwest. TWI
